From sweet implied to bad ass boss [Boudoir & art nude Adelaide]

This was such a fun shoot!

At one point we were laughing so hard I couldn’t hold onto the camera properly!

You know that when your client turns up with a full size cow hide rug, amongst other awesome bits, that it’s going to be a great shoot. Ms J is such a warm, down to earth and positive person to spend time with. She had such a great approach and openness to the shoot, which created a wide variety of photographs. Even during our first phone conversation we easily fell into a good discussion about women’s body image. The shoot followed suit and I think we proceeded to chat about every topic under the sun! I could write a lot more about this lovely shoot, but Ms J has kindly shared a bit about her experience below.

Why did you decide to have this shoot?

I’m a mum of a very busy 4-year-old and I have been working on my mental health / fitness and weight and thought it was time to start been comfortable with my body again. And thought this a good way to capture how far I had already come  (without it been just a selfie in the mirror).

How did you feel before you arrived at your Boudoir Experience?

I had mixed feelings, I was excited to see what could be created and I tried my best to be open minded about the process. Also, a little nervous of the unknown!

How was your Boudoir Experience?

It would have to be one of the most fun and empowering things I have challenged myself to do.

How did you feel about the final photographs?

Over the moon!!! I was worried there wouldn’t be much to choose from and the end I had too many to pick, I loved them all. And each of the little sessions brought out a different side of me from sweet implied nudes to bad ass boss in some of my favourite lingerie.

A photograph on a woman holding a cowboy hat in front of her, obscuring her nudity.

What advice would you give to other women about their relationship with their body?

After this experience it has made me think more about accepting my body for what it is. I have created and carried a life in me (she tells me nearly every day how happy she is that she lived in my tummy). And when my daughter saw the wall print, she told me I looked beautiful. We need to see yourself thought our children’s eyes and love our self and the squishy parts (as my daughter calls them).
